The goal of National Node is to achieve that operational groups and AKIS are in exchange to promote sustainable soil and farm management with info material and events to facilitate knowledge transfer.
Members OGs
- The goal was to develop a workflow for site-specific liming based on high-resolution sensor-based soil mapping to counteract soil acidification. EIP project precise liming in Brandenburg
- Permanent living mulch in arable farming with no-till technology was tested to increase C input and reduce soil disturbance. EIP Project Dalea
- KUHproKLIMA - The aim of this project was to test different approaches in grazing towards site-appropriate, climate-friendly, resilient grassland management. https://www.kuhproklima.de/index.html
- MobGrazing - Holistic grazing management on arable forage production areas in a dry area was studied to increase carbon sequestration, improve feed utilisation. https://www.mob-grazing.de/kontakt
- Different operational innovations like green manures (presown and mulched or cut-and-carry grass clover), composting and cover crops were tested to increase soil fertility and sustainability on low-livestock and livestock-free organic farms. EIP Project BRAVÖ
- ZwiHanf - The cultivation of industrial hemp as a cover crop was tested to reduce nitrate inputs and greenhouse gas emissions from arable land and dairy farming. Website not available
- DiControl - The goal was to study the influence of long-term farming strategies on the soil microbiome and their functionality in terms of its suppressive effect against plant pathogens. The impact of the use of a consortium of beneficial microorganisms on both plant performance and plant health was evaluated. The sustainable soil management by beneficial microbes is integrated into the development of new farming strategies, with the goal of reducing external inputs while maintaining or even increasing yields.
