SO2: Collect, evaluate, harmonize and consolidate existing data and information on soil management best practices with attention to input-efficient and soil health-friendly site-specific approaches, innovation knowledge and information generated by EIP OGs and other project initiatives and develop new data
products, supporting materials and tools for knowledge dissemination and technology uptake.
Activities underpinning this objective
Developing a database of ready to use soil management best practices identified by consortium partner EIP OGs, other national projects and initiatives and Horizon projects. Organizing and harmonizing data to have common definitions and understanding of terminology.
Developing an interactive data dashboard that presents project results in the form of short text, charts, graphs, and tables in a visual and easy to understand form. To ensure that the tool is easily accessible and fulfils the requirements it will be co-design with selected final users (farmers).
Exploring the possibility to adapt ready-to-use farming technologies developed and tailored to the respective regional or national contexts and conditions to different European regions.
Achievements/Targeted outcome
A well-developed and documented database including ready to use research results categorized into groups based on targeted resources and on their nature, with particular focus on innovative practices and on precision farming options
An interoperable Data Dashboard presenting at least 60 ready to use soil management practices, disseminating EIP AGRI OG or other source practical results in a visual and easy-to-understand language to enhance knowledge exchange and foster acceptance and implementation by farmers, that will be linked to EU-wide used platforms (e.g. EU FarmBook).
Adaptation guide of the selected 18 use cases elaborated in close cooperation of the national and EU network for sustainable agriculture with an eye to the FAO orientations such as the Voluntary Guidelines for Sustainable Soil Management and to other relevant international documents to facilitate outscaling to other regions.
