Finding and Applying Practical Knowledge: Soil-X-Change and EU-FarmBook

The BZL webinar presents two European initiatives that make knowledge from research and practice more easily accessible.

The Soil-X-Change Dashboard focuses on sustainable soil management. It brings together knowledge on various measures and allows users to research and compare their documented effects. Supplementary informational materials provide support for practical application.

EU-FarmBook has a broader thematic scope. This European knowledge platform centralizes and makes accessible practice-oriented results from research and innovation projects in agriculture and forestry. Automated translation into 24 languages and intelligent search functions make it easier for researchers to publish their findings and for practitioners to apply them.

 

Dr. Lukas Schütz from the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB) will present Soil-X-Change and its accompanying dashboard. Corinna Fück from the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE) will demonstrate how EU-FarmBook works and how knowledge and project results can be uploaded and searched for in a targeted manner.

 

In addition, the results of an EU-wide survey on the implementation of sustainable soil management will be presented. The interactive portion will also provide an opportunity for questions, sharing experiences, and discussing existing knowledge gaps and challenges in soil management.

 

The 90-minute webinar is aimed at farmers, agricultural advisors, researchers, and other interested parties who are involved in sustainable soil management or the transfer of knowledge into agricultural practice.
