Soil-X-Change at the 3rd European Carbon Farming Summit: Insights from Padua

Soil-X-Change at the 3rd European Carbon Farming Summit: Insights from Padua

At the EU Carbon Farming Summit in Padua | 17–19 March 2026, Soil-X-Change co-organised a workshop on turning soil knowledge into scalable action. The session brought together farmers, researchers, SMEs, and policy actors to explore how to move from research to real-world implementation.
Discussions highlighted that adoption depends on clear, locally demonstrated business cases for soil health. Beyond carbon markets, farmers need to see tangible benefits such as cost savings and improved resilience, supported by peer-to-peer learning and practical examples.
A strong consensus emerged on the need for systemic change: integrated measurement approaches, better knowledge exchange, and shared-risk financing models are essential to scale soil solutions effectively.
These outcomes reinforce Soil-X-Change’s mission to connect knowledge, practice, and innovation, ensuring soil health solutions are not only credible, but actionable at scale.
