Soil-X-Change General Assembly 2025: Partners Meet in Sofia and Online

Soil-X-Change General Assembly 2025: Partners Meet in Sofia and Online

On 4 December, the Soil-X-Change consortium held its General Assembly in Sofia, Bulgaria, with online participation from partners across Europe.
The hybrid meeting brought together project partners for a full day of productive discussions, coordination, and forward planning as the project enters its next phase.

Just one day ahead of World Soil Day, the consortium reviewed feedback from the European Commission, aligned ongoing work across all Work Packages, and discussed ways to increase effectiveness — particularly through stronger collaboration with Operational Groups (OGs), AKIS coordination units, and national networks.

The General Assembly marked an important milestone in preparing for an impactful year ahead. Partners agreed on a clear roadmap for 2026, from strengthening communication and dissemination across Europe, to improving data collection tools such as the Soil-X-Change Dashboard, to aligning cluster collaboration and planning next year’s thematic activities.

Key Topics Discussed

Throughout the day, partners worked collaboratively on:

  • Strengthening communication and dissemination activities and planning content for 2026
  • Improving data collection and refining the Soil-X-Change Dashboard based on user feedback
  • Enhancing cooperation between OGs, AKIS coordination bodies, and Soil-X-Change national nodes
  • Coordinating the development of knowledge materials, CBA results, and demonstration videos
  • Preparing for major 2026 events, including the Carbon Farming Summit, BBioNets final policy event, Soils for Europe, and more

A big thank you to all partners for their strong engagement, valuable input, and excellent teamwork!
The Soil-X-Change consortium is energized and ready for an impactful 2026, continuing its mission to support sustainable soil and farm management through collaboration, innovation, and shared knowledge.
