Cooperation and joint activities with the National AKIS Coordination Body – Slovakia
The Slovak partner in Soil-X-Change project, Bioeconomy Cluster (BEC) is pleased to highlight its ongoing cooperation with the National Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System Coordination Body (AKIS CB) in Slovakia.
This partnership is vital for addressing challenges in agricultural practices and fostering innovation within the sector. BEC works closely with AKIS CB to identify shared challenges and needs in the agricultural community, focusing on developing actionable solutions that facilitate the adoption of sustainable soil management practices on farms and enhance environmental stewardship.
A core aspect of this partnership involves supporting the effective transfer of scientific and practical knowledge. Through workshops and educational initiatives, BEC promotes sustainable agricultural practices while increasing the productivity and resilience of farms, ensuring farmers are equipped with the latest information and techniques to adapt to changing conditions.
Additionally, BEC actively engages with diverse stakeholders, including researchers, agricultural practitioners, and policymakers through the AKIS framework. This collaborative network fosters dialogue and knowledge-sharing, ensuring that insights from various sectors inform best practices and innovative approaches in agriculture.
Together with AKIS CB, BEC is committed to formulating recommendations for policymakers aimed at improving advisory services and enhancing the functioning of EIP Operational Groups, ensuring the agricultural community’s voice is represented in policy discussions based on real-world needs.
A significant outcome of the Soil-X-Change project is the creation of a comprehensive database of solutions focused on healthy soil management. This database will serve as a key resource for farmers and stakeholders, providing accessible information that supports sustainable practices. Additionally, it represents a major milestone in the collaboration between BEC and AKIS CB, as it can be widely promoted and disseminated to enhance awareness and adoption of effective soil management strategies across the agricultural community in Slovakia.
Their joint efforts also include organizing events and meetings to discuss advancements, share updates, and strengthen community bonds, exemplified by participation in events, where stakeholders explore regenerative agriculture practices. Through these collaborative efforts, BEC and the AKIS CB are committed to fostering a more resilient and sustainable agricultural sector in Slovakia.
